Curfew imposed in Jumla since early morning

The District Administration Office has ordered a curfew in Jumla from early morning today after the protest movement demanding Karnali to be established as an autonomous state with rights turned violent. The curfew that was ordered from 5:30 pm yesterday till 6:30 am today was renewed until further notice by the DAO. The protest had turned violent after protesters took control of the government offices in Jumla yesterday saying that they would run local administration on their own. 13 people were injured when police fired at the demonstrators who were removing the signboards of district police office and DAO. Keeping in view a large number of protesters in the district headquarter Khalanga, the local administration has called for an additional number of APF men.
