(Update)--Police on Tuesday arrested 10 suspects in connection with the deadly attack on eight police personnel including SSP Laxman Neupane during a demonstration demanding Tharuhat province in Tikapur on Monday. Those apprehended are Sundarlal Chaudhary, 35, Khadka Bahadur Chaudhary, 55, Ram Prasad Chaudhary, 44 from Joshipur-4. Likewise, Ram Janam Chaudhary, 17 of Darakh-6, Narayanpur, Ram Kumar Khatriya, 20, Sundarlal Khatriya, 27, Dil Bahadur Chaudhary, 20, Rajkumar Kathriya, 24, of Manua-1 and Hari Narayan Chaudhary, 22 of Manua-4 and Prem Bahadur Chaudhary, 41, of Bhajani-5. Ram Prasad Chaudhary is the regional chairman of the Madhesi People's Rights Forum (Democratic). SSP Laxman Neupane, Police Inspectors Balaram Bista and Keshab Bohara, Head Constable Laxman Khadka and policeman Lokendra Chand, APF Head Constable Lalit Saud, and APF Constable Ram Bihari Tharu died in the incident. 

(Updated)---According to Kailali district chairman of Tharu Kalyankarini Sabha, Lahuram Chaudhari, some of the prisoners arrested in connection with the Tikapur incident have reportedly attempted to commit suicide in custody. Many of the accused being held in the custody have fallen prey to depression due to the longing for their family. The prisoners lamented their sorrows to senior leaders of Tharu Kalyankarini Sabha Lahuram Chaudhari and Ramprashad Tharu and expressed wishes to commit suicide.
