Locals of Sima village in Mugu district have attacked the police post located in the village on Tuesday night. The incident occurred following a dispute between villagers and locals Nundul Lama and Sonam Lama over tax on herbs. When the two went to police post to seek refuge villagers surrounded the police post and pelted stones. The villagers later vandalized the police post and set fire to it. Police fired 11 rounds of tear gas to take the escalating situation into control. According to DSP Shrihajur Silwal, ASI Rudra Rawal and four other policemen were injured in the incident. DPO Mugu has sent 15 policemen under the command of Inspector Mitra Acharya to maintain security in the village.
