Arjun Kumar Bohara, 26, and Keshav Bahadur Thapa, 23, of Hariharpur in Kachanapur VDC-6 have filed a case regarding torture compensation at the District Court on March 29. The duo filed the case against head constable Janardan Chaudhary and constable Padam Bohara of Police Post Kachanapur with legal support of the Advocacy Forum. According to the victims, the policemen tortured them physically and mentally for two days in custody after arresting them over a scuffle with locals Rajendra Pun and Roshan Basnet. Advocate Basant Gautam said that medical reports of the victims show that the duo sustained bruises and injuries to their back, hip, elbow, leg, and other parts of the body due to the torture. The incident came out after the duo filed an appeal at INSEC regional office on March 25. INSEC had asked the National Human Rights Commission to take appropriate steps on the matter.
