Four held with 6,000 litre diesel from Lalitpur

Four people, including a fuel tanker driver, have been arrested on charge of illegally supplying and hoarding petroleum products from Bajrabarahi of Lalitpur in the past two days. Police said they seized 6,000 litres of diesel from their possession. Ram Kumar Thokar (49) of Makawanpur and Ram Kumar Basnet (38) of Bajrabarahi from Takhel, Bajrabarahi on Wednesday. They were arrested when Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC)’s fuel tanker (Na 2 Kha 6698) that Thokar drove was delivering 3,000 litres to a construction company of which Basnet is a manager. Likewise, police arrested Dil Bahadur Waiba (39) of Kavrepalanchok, and Dipak Ghimire (29) of Bajrabarahi from Pyanggaun of Bajrabarahi in possession of 3,000 litres diesel on Tuesday. Police said that the duo had hoarded diesel in 12 containers. Three empty containers, each of 250 litre capacity, were also confiscated.
