Press Council Nepal (PCN) is preparing a probe into the ABC television for broadcasting the interview of CK Raut, the coordinator of the independent Madhes campaign. According to council chairman Borna Bahadur Karki, the media statutory body will investigate the channel as no citizen should conduct activities against the sovereignty, geographical integrity and national unity of the state. ABC has violated Nepal’s constitution and journalists’ code of conduct, hence an investigation has been initiated,” Karki said. Raut’s Press Conference in Reporter’s Club has been halted after the Club’s Chairman Rishi Dhamala was warned against it. Raut, a controversial figure advocating a secessionist campaign, has been repeatedly arrested for his anti-national activities.
