[Updated] Police arrested a person on the charge of sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl, in Rajbiraj, on Tuesday. According to the Area Police Office, Kanchanpur, Upendra Das Tatma (35) of Kanchanrup Municipality-2 in the district was caught red-handed while trying to molest the girl in his relative’s house in Mohali of the district. Police arrested Tatma after the family of victim registered a case at the police station. The girl had gone missing from her house some five days ago. The case of attempt to rape would be filed against Tatma, police said.
Update.... The District Court of Saptari has ordered to sentence Rupendra Das Tatma, 35 of Kanchanrup Municipality-2 for nine years along with Rs 50,000 penalty on October 21 on the charge of raping a 14 years old girl. A single bench of District Court judge Ishwori Prasad Gautam has given a verdict regarding the case. The accused had controlled the victim before molesting her according to the court. The victim’s mother had lodged a complaint at Area Police Office of Kanchanrup on May 9. The complaint was lodged on the same day for the action and he was remanded in custody since June 3 according to the court order.
