The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Friday filed a graft case at the Special Court against 12 persons including operators of the Gandaki Medical College. The anti-graft body has accused them of granting affiliation by preparing a false report about infrastructures before fixing numbers of students for the MBBS program. CIAA said that a monitoring team jointly deployed from the Tribhuvan University and the Nepal Medical Council recommended 15 seats for the college. The CIAA charged-sheet Dr. Ganesh Kumar Rai, Dr. Nara Maya Thapa, Dr. Pradeep Gyawali, Dr. Rajeev Yadav, Dr. Krishna Adhikari, and Dr. Prenit Kumar Pokharel. Similarly, college operators Khuma Prasad Aryal, Ramesh Sharma, Prakash Lamichhane, Bhesh Raj Aryal, Hum Nath Koirala, and Nisan Rajbhandari have also been named in the case.
