The District Court of Ilam has ordered to sentence 25-year-old Suman Rai of Shantidada VDC-5 for nine and half years on the charge of raping a 14-years old girl. A single bench of District Court judge Nawa Raj had given his verdict against the accused. The accused had raped a girl on April 29, 2015, and was arrested on May 3 based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s family at District Police Office. Rai was remanded in custody on May 30 by a court order. On April 29, the victim underwent a health check-up at District Hospital of Ilam.
