The District Court of Jumla ordered to sentence 38-year-old Krishna Prasad Adhikari of Gajyangkot VDC-4 and 25-year-old Parbati Bhandari of the same VDC-3 for one year each on the charges of polygamy. A single bench of District Court judge Kripasur Karki on August 8 gave a verdict regarding the case. 35-year-old first wife Nirmala Adhikari of Krishna Bahadur lodged a complaint at District Police Office on May 5 against them on the charges of polygamy. The police registered the complaint at District Court of Jumla on May 30 after completing its investigation. The accused were released by the police on a bail amount of Rs 50,000 each as per court order on June 5.
