Engineers and Technical staff employed by Governments for reconstruction work in Earthquake affected areas have started agitation putting forward a number of demands. More than 500 Engineers, sub-engineers, and assistant engineers who were working in earthquake-affected districts have come to Kathmandu to participate in the agitation on Tuesday. They said engineers and technical staff have not received a salary from the month of Shrawan. Similarly, they have also expressed dissatisfaction with their contracts not being renewed. The engineers staged a sit-in before the central project implementation unit, at Babarmahal. They have put forward demands including a safe working environment, salary and allowances, and immediate renewal of their contract among others.
