2016-09-30

Bagmati, Nuwakot, Bidur

Transporters in Rasuwa and Nuwakot district on Friday obstructed vehicular movement in the districts protesting launch of the bus service from a new transport company. The strike, however, ended in the afternoon after an agreement with the concerned stakeholders. The Pasang Lhamu Transport Service Committee had imposed the chakkajam after the Kyirong Yatayat began bus services from the Nepal-China border near Kyirong to Kathmandu via Trishuli Galchhi. The new company is operating its buses for last one month. The Pasang Lhamu Committee had accused the Kyirong Yatayat of repairing years-old buses to look like “deluxe” and leaving the customers in an illusion. But, a local from Charghare of Nuwakot district, Binod Sapkota, said the old committee tried to impose its syndicate with the false claim as the commuters preferred the new buses over the old ones. Later, a meeting of the Pasang Lhamu Committee with concerned stakeholders this afternoon solved the issue with a decision that whether the Kyirong Yatayat buses were old would be probed, informed Chief of the Nuwakot District Police Office, SP Dev Bahadur Bohara. The Pasang Lhamu Company had parked its buses across the roads today in various places including Dhunche, Trishuli, Battar and Pipaltar to block the traffic. The local administration had taken an initiative to solve the issue after emergency vehicles including ambulances could not operate.
