The District Court Saptari has sent Nagendra Mehata, 22, of Chhitaha9 in Sunsari to custody on remand on March 25.

Judge Kiran Prasad Shivakot ordered to keep the accused in custody for investigation on the charge of abducting and raping a 16-year-old girl.

Nagendra's brother-in-law Shiva Narayan Mahato, 25, of Terhaita5 had married the girl as his second wife after luring her on January 7. Shiva Narayan has been absconding since February 21.

The District Police Office had registered a case of abduction and rape against Nagendra on February 23. He was arrested the same day from Birendra bazaar in Terhaita5.
