The joint struggle committee continued its protest against the constitution amendment bill on Saturday as well by enforcing general strike in Rupandehi. The protesters are against splitting of Tarai and hill districts in province 5 as provisioned by the amendment bill. Rupandehi district has come to a grinding halt due to the banda. Major cities and market places in the district have remained shut. Vehicular movement along the east-west highway and Siddhartha highway is nil. Cadres of various political parties affiliated to the joint struggle committee carried out protest rallies in Butwal the epicenter of the agitation. संविधान संशोधन प्रस्तावको बिरुद्ध दुई दिनदेखि भैरहवा क्षेत्र ठप्प भएको छ । संविधान संशोधन मार्फत् ५ नम्बर प्रदेशबाट पहाडी जिल्लालाई नटुक्र्याउन माग गर्दै भैरहवामा बिरोध प्रदर्शन गरिएको छ । बिरोधमा विशेषगरी नेकपा एमालेका कार्यकर्ता सडकमा उत्रिएका छन् । उनीहरुलाई अन्य नगरवासीले साथ दिएका छन् । बजार बन्द छ । यातायात आवागमन ठप्प छ । भैरहवाबाट छुट्ने लामो र छोटो दुरीका कुनैपनि सार्वजनिक यातायातका साधन सञ्चालन भएका छैनन् । भैरहवा क्षेत्रका सबै औद्योगिक कलकारखाना बन्द छन् । सबै शिक्षण संस्थापनि बन्द छन् । ढुवानीपनि ठप्प छ ।
