Tension ran high in two districts of western Tarai – Rupandehi and Nawalparasi on late Monday afternoon after the CPN-UML-aligned Youth Association Nepal’s Rupandehi district chairman Durga Tiwari was shot dead. UML cadres have obstructed the East-West Highway at various points in the districts. Meanwhile, they also staged a demonstration in Butwal and other cities demanding action against the culprits.
