23-year-old Laalchuni Khatun was found dead on Sunday in her residence at Prastoka-1, Harpur. Khatun's family has accused her husband Mustaak Miya Mansur of stranglulating her to death. Meanwhile, Mustaak's family has reported it as suicide. Khatun's brother Mustakim Miya Ansoori has also accused Khatun's in-laws and husband of harrassing her for dowry since past 6 years. Mustakim said that it could not be a natural death as the incident occured two weeks after Khatun's husband asked her to come back home after returning from abroad. According to the Superintendent of Police Narendra Upreti, eventhough the complaint logded is of alleged murder but the locals have claimed it be suicide. Moreover, postmortem reports and other evidences would verify if its a case of murder, sucicide or natural death. Deceased Khatun has a 2 months old and a 6-year-old daughters and a 4-year-old son.
