Police on Thursday made public a gun and its bullets that they had found from a forest in Gadhi Village Municipality on Wednesday. A team led by District Police Office Makwanpur inspector Bed Prasadh Gautam had found a three-nought-three rifle and 68 rounds of bullets wrapped in a bag. The item found was paraded amidst a press conference at the DPO. As no one can keep guns, even registered ones, at home during elections, someone might have hidden the gun here fearing the authorities, said SP Basanta Kumar Lama of the DPO, adding the investigation was on. Meanwhile, police have urged locals to submit their weapons to the administration in view of the impending election.
