Locals of Sindhuli staged a sit-in at the contact office of Maruti Cement Company Limestone mine in Udaypur accusing the company of showing recklessness towards the death of a resident who had died after getting hit by a stone while work was ongoing at the company's mine at Kakurthakur VDC of Sindhuli. The protesters have demanded due compensation to the victim's family. The deceased,45-year-old Khadga Bahadur Thapa Magar died while he went to the incident site to irrigate his paddy field. However, the police reported that ThapaMagar died when he was hit by a stone that fell on him during road expansion work in the area. Police has also arrested the excavator for further investigation. मारुती सिमेन्ट कम्पनी चुनढुंगा खानीको सम्पर्क कार्यालय उदयपुरको देविछापमा सिन्धुलीका स्थानीयले धर्ना दिएका छन् । शनिबार दिउँसो सिन्धुलीको ककुरठाकुर गाउँ विकास समितिमा चुनढुंगा खानीबाट ढुंगा निकाल्ने क्रममा स्थानीय एक जनाको ज्यान गए पनि सम्बन्धित निकायले बेवास्ता गरेको भन्दै स्थानीयले धर्ना दिएका हुन् । चुनढुंगा खानीबाट ढुंगा निकाल्ने क्रममा खसेको ढुंगाले ककुठाकुर गाउँ विकास समितिका ४७ वर्षीय खड्ग बहादुर थापा मगरको ज्यान गएको थियो । मृतक वर्षे धानको ब्याड राख्नका लागि कुलोमा पानी लाउन गएका थिए । मारुती सिमेन्ट कम्पनी चुनढुंगा निकाल्दा ढुंगाले लाग्दा थापामगरको ज्यान गएको करठाकुर गाउँ विकास समितिका प्रावधिक सहायक भिम कुमार राइले जानकारी दिए । स्थानीयले उचित क्षति पूर्ति दिइनु पर्ने, दोषीलाई कारवाही गर्नु पर्ने माग गरेका छन् । यता जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालय सिन्धुलीका प्रहरी उपरीक्षक उमाशंकर पंजियारले सडक विस्तार गर्ने क्रममा एक्सकाभेटरले पाखामा खन्ने क्रममा ढुंगा खस्दा लागेको र मृतकको शव पोस्टमार्टम गरि परिवारलाई जिम्मा लगाई सकेको बताए । प्रहरीले थप अनुसन्धानका लागि आइतबार एक्स्काभेटरका चालकलै नियन्त्रणमा लिएको समेत जनाएको छ ।
