Families of those killed and injured in the bus accident on February 9 closed down the transport service indefinitely in Jajarkot today.
The families of the dead and injured imposed a vehicular shutdown, saying they were not provided with the compensation that was agreed upon.
The closure has disrupted the entry and exit of vehicles in the district, affecting daily life.
Twenty-seven people were killed and 35 were injured in the bus accident at Bohora village of Bheri Municiplaity-4 on February 9.
After the incident, the local administration had an agreement with the families of the dead to provide Rs 1 lakh immediately and Rs 4 lakhs later.
The victims’ families took to the streets after they were not given reparation. The agreement was signed in the presence of former home minister Shakti Bahadur Basnet, lawmaker Rita Rawal, Chief District Officer Krishna Chandra Paudel, and various political party representatives.
The relatives of the deceased said they were provided Rs 25,000 to perform last rites.
