Cadres of Maoist Centre took the street protesting against Supreme Court's Interim Order to halt the implementation of decision to increase the number of local levels. The rally starting from Nilsadan made around the main city and ended in a corner meeting at B Plot. The attendees of the rally chanted the slogans demanding the Metropolitan status for Biratnagar as well as revoking Supreme Court's order. Addressing the meeting were Central leader; Hom Kark, and mayoral candidates; Bhogendra Yadav and Namita Neupane. Recently, Government decided to upgrade Biratnagar and Birgunj to Metropolitan also adding 22 local levels. But Supreme Court on Friday state interim order not to implement the government's decision. स्थानीय तहको संख्या बढाउने निर्णय कार्यान्वयन नगर्न सर्वोच्च अदालतले दिएको आन्तरिम आदेशविरुद्ध माओवादी केन्द्र सडकमा उत्रिएको छ । माओवादी केन्द्र विराटनगरले शनिबार सर्वोच्चको आदेशविरुद्ध विराटनगरमा प्रर्दशन गरेको हो । स्थानीय निलसदनवाट निस्किएको र्‍यालीमा मुख्य बजारको परिक्रमा गरी वि प्लटमा पुगेर कोण सभामा परिणत भएको थियो । र्‍यालीमा सहभागीहरुले ‘विराटनगरलाई महानगरपालिका कार्यम गर, अदालती आदेश खारेज गर, कार्यपालिका माथिको हस्तक्षेप वन्द गर’ जस्ता नारा लगाएका थिए । कोण सभामा माओवादी केन्द्रका नेता हेम कार्की, मेयर एव उपमेयरका उम्मेदवार भोगेन्द्र यादव र नमिता न्यौपाने लगायतले विराटनगरको विकास नचाहनेहरुले विराटनगरलाई महानगरपालिका नवनाउन षडयन्त्र गरेको आरोप लगाए । सरकारले हालै मात्र विराटनगर र वीरगञ्जलाई महानगरमा स्तरोन्नती गर्नुका साथै २२ स्थानीय तह थप्ने निर्णय गरेको थियो । तर, र्वोच्च अदालतले शुक्रबार स्थानीय तहको संख्या बढाउने निर्णय कार्यान्वयन नगर्न अन्तरिम आदेश दिएको छ ।
