Women of Dhangadhi have staged demonstration demanding investigation and action against the culprit involved in a murder of an elderly couple last Sunday. An elderly couple was murdered in a cold blood in Chhatrabas Tole of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolis-7 on Sunday night. Police said 72-year-old Badri Joshi, a former teacher, and his wife Kunti Joshi, 65, were killed by using a sharp weapon. The couple’s faces were maimed and their bodies were recovered from inside a locked room, said SP Arjun Chand, chief of District Police Office, Kailali. The reason behind the murder has not been known yet. Meanwhile, police are conducting a thorough investigation into the murder. They have rounded up the tenants staying at Joshi’s house for the investigation. Police are also looking for two suspects who are at large. The deceased couple is survived by three daughters and a son. The son is in Spain while two daughters are in Australia and America. One daughter is in Dhangadhi, police said. हत्यामा संलग्न अपराधीलाई प्रहरीले अझै कारवाही गर्न नसकेको भन्दै धनगढीका महिलाहरू आन्दोलित भएका छन् । गत आइतबार धनगढी उपमहानगरपालिका ७ मा ७२ वर्षीय बद्रीप्रसाद जोशी र उनकी ६५ वर्षीया श्रीमती कुन्तादेवी जोशीको विभत्स हत्या गरी कोठामा थुनेर रातभर खसी काटेर भतेर गर्ने अपराधीलाई प्रहरीले नसमातेको भन्दै स्थानीय महिलाहरू आन्दोलित भएका हुन् । हत्यारालाई कारबाही गर, सत्य तत्थ्य बाहिर निकाल, नागरिकको बाँच्ने अधिकार सुनिश्चित गर भन्ने जस्ता नारा लगाई सयौँ महिलाहरू विरोध र्यालीमा उत्रिएका छन् । धनगढी क्याम्पस रोडबाट सुरु भएको विरोध र्याली जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालयमा पुगेको छ । प्रहरीले हत्यारालाई नसमातेसम्म शव नबुझ्ने भन्दै आफन्त पनि आन्दोलमा उत्रिएका छन् । प्रहरीले हत्यामा संलग्न भएको आशंकामा पुजा बटाला, समीक्षा साउद, जमुना साउद, रन्तलादेवी साउद र सिमरन धामीलाई सोमबार नै पक्राउ गरेको छ । जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालय कैलालीका उपरीक्षक अर्जुन चन्दका अनुसार हत्याको मुख्य अभियुक्त भने फरार छन् र उनीहरूलाई पनि प्रहरीले चाँडै नै कानूनको कठघरामा उभ्याउने छ । उनका अनुसार अनुसन्धान सफलोन्मुख भएको र अपराधीलाई सकभर चाँडै नै सार्वजनिक गरिनेछ ।
