Students of Sundarmal Ramkumar Girls Higher Secondary School have staged demonstration against the school principal on the road in Birta of Birgunj in Parsa district on Sunday. Students were compelled to stage protest on a road against the Principal Surendra Kunwar after he changed earlier summer vacation schedule and fixed it for July 2 to 17. According to students, Principal Kunwar’s such move is against the guidelines from the educational calendar issued by the District Education Office, Parsa. As all the rooms and office in the school are padlocked with the declaration of vacation but teachers and the students protested against principal Kunwar by running classes on the road. Earlier, District Education Office, Parsa, had published an educational calendar, which mentions that summer vacation at the community schools should be started from July 20 for this academic year. Principal Kunwar, however, published a notice for the school closure from July 2. According to Kunwar, the decision is based on the attempt to accommodate classes of grade 11. As the new academic session of grade 11 starts at the same time for all schools, it is unlikely that it will only affect this school, argued Deputy Principal Atul Shrivastav. The official calendar was not followed as there was Principal’s personal benefit behind it, Shrivastav added. वीरगन्जको सुन्दरमल रामकुमार कन्या उच्च माध्यमिक विद्यालयका शिक्षकको विवादले विद्यार्थी आन्दोलनमा उत्रिएका छन्। गर्मी विदाका विषयमा प्रधानाध्यापक र शिक्षकबीच मतभेदको मारमा विद्यार्थी परेका हुन्। अन्य शिक्षकको असहमतिका बाबजुद प्रधानाध्यापक सुरेन्द्र कुवँरले जिल्ला शिक्षा कार्यालय पर्साले जारी गरेको शैक्षिक क्यालेण्डर विपरित आइतबार असार १८ गतेदेखि साउन २ गतेसम्मका लागि गर्मी विदा दिएपछि विवाद भएको हो। प्रधानाध्यापकले विद्यालय बन्द गरेपछि विद्यार्थीले भने विद्यालय सञ्चालनको माग गर्दै सडक आन्दोलन सुरु गरेका हुन्। विद्यालयका सबै कक्षा कोठा र कार्यालयमा ताल्चा लगाइएका कारण विद्यार्थी आइतबार बिहानदेखि विद्यालय अगाडिको सडकै बसेर पठपाठन गर्दै प्रधानाध्यापक कुवँरविरुद्ध नाराबाजी गरिरहेका छन्। जिल्ला शिक्षा कार्यालय पर्साले जारी गरेको शैक्षिक क्यालेण्डरमा सामुदायिक विद्यालयमा साउन ५ गतेदेखि गर्मी विदा दिनु पर्ने उल्लेख छ। तर, प्रधानाध्यापक कुवँरले भने शुक्रबार असार १८ गतेदेखि साउन २ गतेसम्म गर्मी विदाका लागि विद्यालय बन्द हुने सूचना प्रकाशित गरका थिए। शिक्षा कार्यालयको निर्देशन विपरित असार १८ गतेदेखि गर्मी विदाका लागि विद्यालय बन्द गर्ने प्रधानाध्यापक कुवँरको निर्णयको शिक्षक शिक्षिकाले पनि असहमति जनाउदै चर्को विरोध गरेका थिए। यता विद्यार्थीले पनि शिक्षा कार्यालयको निर्देशन विपरित प्रधानाध्यापक कुवँरले आफ्नो स्वार्थका लागि विद्यालय बन्द गरेको भन्दै आन्दोलन सुरु गरेका हुन्। विद्यालय अगाडिको सडकमा आइतबार बिहान सडकमै बसेर विरोध गरिरहेका विद्यार्थीले प्रधानाध्यापक कुवँरलाई बर्खास्त गर्न माग गरेका छन्।
