The Teku-based Metropolitan Crime Division arrested three persons in possession of illegal weapons from Sukedhara, Kathmandu on Sunday. Acting on a tip-off, a team deployed from the Division arrested Anil Mahato (27) of Chitwan and currently residing in Sukedhara; Mahesh Lama (27) of Ramechhap and currently living in Sukedhara and, Rodan Lama aka Dalle (24) of Kavre and currently residing in Patale Basti in Kathmandu. Police suspected the trio and seized one Katuwa Pistol and four bullets of 303 Rifle from their possession during a check search. The illegal weapons were hidden in a bag that Mahato was carrying. According to police, the trio was involved in various criminal activities including extortion of money from entrepreneurs. The trio was sent to Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Range for further investigation and action on Monday.
