Police has arrested a man from Bodebarsain Municipality in Saptari on the charge of murdering his wife on Tuesday. Superintendent of Police (SP) Mukesh Kumar Singh said the suspect, Jaya Prakash Yadav, was being investigated after the decapitated body of his wife, Lalita Devi, was discovered in a rice field. The couple’s neighbours said Yadav had a history of beating his wife. Just a couple of weeks earlier, Yadav had reportedly attacked Lalita with a sharp-edged weapon. Following his arrest, Yadav confessed to police that he had murdered his wife “at the instruction of his god”, SP Singh said.
