A man has been arrested on the charge of raping a woman after taking her hostage in Dharan. Nabin Rai, 22, of Diprung Rural Municipality-3, Khotang district was arrested based on a complaint filed by the victim. The victim woman accused him of raping her after taking her hostage for two days. Though the incident occurred on December 28, Rai was arrested on Monday, police informed. The 20-year-old victim, a permanent resident of Chaubise, Dhankuta, has been studying in Dharan for the past few years. Rai confessed to the crime during police interrogation, said DSP Rameshwor Paudel of the Area Police Office, Dharan. In the complaint, the victim said that the perpetrator hoodwinked her to go with him to the hotel. She said that Rai had threatened to kill her. The victm's kith and kin assaulted Rai after they caught him in Dharan. Police said that preparations are underway to take action against the family members of the victim for allegedly beating Rai black and blue. Police said that the victim has been sent to the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences for health check-up. धरान उपमहानगरपालिका–२ स्थित संखुवासभा होटलमा २० वर्षीय युवती बलात्कृत भएकी छिन् । उनलाई बलात्कार गरेको आरोपमा खोटाङ दिप्रुङ गाउँपालिका–३ का २२ वर्षीय नविन राई पक्राउ परेका छन् । प्रहरीका अनुसार राईले गत १३ पुसमा धनकुटाको चौबिसे गाउँपालिका–५ घर भइ सुनसरीको धरान उपमहानगरपालिका–१६ बस्दै आएकी ती युवतीलाई होटलमा जबरजस्तीकरणी गरेका थिए । होटलको कोठा नम्बर १०२ मा आफूमाथि बलात्कार भएको भन्दै पीडितले इलाका प्रहरी कार्यालय, धरानमा सोमबार जाहेरी दिएकी छन् । पीडितको जाहेरी लगत्तै प्रहरीले राई नियन्त्रणमा लिएर थप अनुसन्धान थालेको हो ।
