Police on Friday arrested 62-year-old Sudhilal Chaudhary of Baraha municipality-8 in Sunsary, currently residing in Belaka municipality-9, on the charge of raping a 15-year-old girl. Inspector Man Prashad Shrestha of District police office informed that, police arrested Chaudhary on Friday after receiving a complaint accusing him of raping the girl on the same day. The victim underwent medical examination at district hospital on Saturday.

The District Court of Sunsari has ordered to sentence 62 years old Suhi Lal Chaudhary of Barahachetra Municipality-8 for seven years after finding him guilty on raping 14 years old girl. The court has also ordered for the compensation of Rs 30,000 to the victim from accused. A single bench of District Court judge Tirtha Raj KC had given the verdict regarding the case. The victim’s party had lodged complaint against the accused at Area Police Office of Ram Pur on March 10 on charge of rape on March 9. The victim underwent health checkup at District Hospital of Bokse on March 10. After the arrest of accused he was remanded in custody by the court order on April 1.
