An inebriated man beat his wife to death at Thaha Municipality-5 in Makwanpur district on Saturday night. According to the Palung Area Police Office, Sahila Thing, 52, of Naliban beat his 43-year-old wife Sahilimaya Thing to death over a minor dispute. The accused, who came home late in the evening, is said to have thrashed the victim for not opening the door for him. Preliminary investigation showed that the perpetrator broke open the door and thrashed his sleeping wife. He then reportedly put insecticide in her mouth apparently to show that the victim had poisoned herself. The villagers, who were suspicious of the man’s statement, informed the police about the incident on Sunday morning.
