Supporters of anti corruption crusader Dr Govinda KC on Sunday began a mass hunger strike at Basantapur courtyard. Members of general public have been participating in the mass hunger strike organised by ‘Solidarity for Dr KC Alliance’. Advocate Om Prakash Aryal, and Krishna Pahari, among other civil society representatives are also participating in the strike. Around 100 people registered their names to join the mass hunger strike. The hunger strike will continue from 10 am to 5 pm. The loose coalition of supporters of the Dr KC’s indefinite hunger on Saturday changed slogans against the “autocratic” move of the government. Dr Govinda KC has been staging his 15th hunger strike demanding reforms in country’s medical sector. He has been demanding that the National Medical Education Bill tabled in the parliament should be withdrawn and the recommendations made by the Mathema commission should honoured while drafting the bill. केसीको समर्थनमा ‘सोलिडारिटी फर डा. केसी अलायन्स’ को आयोजनामा आइतबार बिहान वसन्तपुर डबलीमा आमनागरिकको सहभागितामा सामूहिक सत्याग्रह सुरु भएको छ । सत्याग्रहमा अधिवक्ता अाेमप्रकाश अर्याल, कृष्ण पहाडी लगायत नागरिक समाजका अगुवाहरुकफ पनि सहभागिता रहेको अायोजकले बताएको छ । केही समय अघिसम्म १०० जना बढीले सत्याग्रहमा बस्नका लागि नाम टिपाएर अनसनमा बसेका छन्। शनिबार अलायन्सले नयाँ बानेश्वरमा गरेको कोणसभामा नागरिक सत्याग्रहको घोषणा गर्दा २६० बढीले आफ्नो नाम टिपाएको आयोजकले जानकारी दिएको छ। सत्याग्रह बिहान १० देखी साँझ ५ बजेसम्म जारी रहने बताइएको छ।
