Protest rallies have been organised today in various parts of Sunsari district to condemn the killing of local Mohammad Fida Hussein.
The demonstrators have put forward a five-point demand including the arrest of Hussein’s murderer, declaration of the deceased as a martyr, compensation for the family of the deceased, and security to local people.
They submitted the memorandum to the Prime Minister through Chief District Officer.
The protestors placed Hussein’s body on the road, burnt tyres, and briefly disrupted transportation at Duhabi, Inaruwa, Jamuwa Nahar and Jhokraha, affecting passengers.
Hussein of Duhabi Municipality-9 was shot dead by an unidentified person on Wednesday morning while he was on a morning walk.
