Police in Lamjung district reportedly arrested a man for raping his sister-in-law in Sundar Bazaar Municipality-7 on Tuesday.
According to Lamjung District Police Office (DPO), the arrestee raped his sister-in-law who was alone in the room in Sundar Bazaar-7. The arrested, under the influence of alcohol, was visiting his sister-in-law when she was alone in her rented room, police informed adding that her husband was out for work at the time.
The victim informed her husband of the incident and immediately lodged a complaint at Bhoteodar-based Area Police Office after the arrestee fled the scene.
A team of police deployed from Sundar Bazaar Police Post arrested him while he was hiding not very far from the incident site, and brought him to the DPO, informed Police Inspector Basanta Pandey, Information Officer at the DPO.
Inspector Basnet said the arrestee was presented at the District Court and have been remanded in judicial custody for 10 days.
