Police arrested an ex-constable of Nepal Police on the charge of raping his 9-year-old daughter. According to the police, the man from Godawori municipality-4 raped his daughter on Friday night.
According to the police, the accused was arrested on the basis of a complaint filed by his nephew.
Gautam Mishra, chief of the Metropolitan Police Circle, Satdobato, said he was given a seven-day extension from District Court Lalitpur. According to Mishra, the incident took place on Friday night at 8 pm while the accused was intoxicated.
He raped his daughter when his wife had gone to her parents' house in Pokhara. The victim was taken to the health post for medical examination when she told that she had pain in her stomach on Sunday. In the health post, it was found that her genital was bleeding and was sent to Patan hospital for treatment.
After the incident, the victim's mother came to Kathmandu. The accused was brought to the police station on Sunday.
According to the New Criminal Code (Code) Act 2074, the punishment is fixed according to the age of the girl. Depending on the condition and nature of the rape case, there is a punishment of 10 to 20 years in prison.
