Woman gang-raped in Thamel

A 22-year-old woman was raped at a Chinese restaurant situated at Kathmandu-27, Thamel. Police have arrested five persons in connection with the incident.
The arrested have been identified as 18-year-old Biraj Gurung of Gorkha, 17-year-old Som Tamang of Kabhre and 3 others. According to DSP Homindra Bogati, the 3 others arrested were also near the site of the incident and attempted to rape the woman.
The woman had gone to the restaurant in search of room. Police are further investigating on the incident.
