Two arrested for cow slaughter

Chitwan Police have detained two persons on the charge of butchering a cow in Chitwan.
The arrestees – Rana Bahadur Sarki and Bikram Sarki – of Bharatpur Municipality-21 were held in possession of beef, officials informed.
Provisions of Criminal (Code) Act 2017 prohibits the slaughter of cow and oxen, and if found guilty, the perpetrator(s) must serve 3-year-imprisonment.
