Temporary and contract teachers staged a protest at Maitighar demanding the resignation of the Minister for Education, Science, and Technology, Giriraj Mani Pokharel. The teachers took out a rally from Maitighar Mandala to New Baneshwore on Sunday.
The temporary and contract teachers working for more than fifteen years have been staging a protest for two months, demanding a permanent tenure. There are about 3,000 temporary teachers in Nepal.
