In the protest against the deduction of the holiday of Tamu Lhosar, the Gurung community of Sunsari have staged a sit-in at District Administration Office. The team lead by Bakasman Gurung, District Chaiperson of Gurung Council, reached Inarwuwa and staged the sit-in for an hour within the premises of the DAO.
The Gurung community with their Gurung cultural custom protested against cutoff of holiday saying this is a kind of caste discrimination and has to be stopped and there must be holday on that day.
According to the report, there are 8 thousand Gurungs living in Sunsari. This year, Tamu Lhoshar is on December 26.
