There was a massive demonstration by Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) in Butwal demanding the Province 5 to be named Magarat-Tharuhat on March 29. According to the Federation, there are two reasons for the province's name to be kept  Magarat-Tharuhat; more than two-thirds of  population of the state is either Tharu or Magar and the province is the native place for both Tharu and Magars. The demonstration, which started from Butwal Highway, had a notable presence, especially of the Magar and Tharu communities.
