The staffs of Lisankhupakhar Rural Municipality have started an indefinite strike starting April 2, against an assault on engineer Kapil Shrestha by Dawadorje Tamang, member of ward 1 of the rural municipality on May 31. They have halted all work at the rural municipality office.
According to Nanimaya Basnet, an employee at Lisankhupakhar rural municipality Tamang had beaten engineer Shrestha at his office on May 31 after he refused to release payment related to the construction of Bhyangchhup Sempa Gumba Stupa. Shrestha who sustained a minor injury in the incident underwent a medical examination at a local health post.
District Committee of Nepal Public Service Employees Association condemned the assault on Shrestha issuing a press statement.
