A 30-year-old man was taken into custody on June 1, by the police on the charge of raping an 18-year-old girl on May 30. The accused has been identified as Surat Khadka of Salena, Purba Chauki rural municipality-7.

The victim's relatives lodged  a verbal complaint against the accused on June 1. According to Inspector Surendra Bam of District Police Office, Doti, on the basis of the complaints the accused was arrested for further investigation.

The victim underwent health checkup at Zonal Hospital  on June 1.
