INSEC Panchthar filed a complaint at the District Police Office on 9th June stating that 13-year-old Sandhya Rai, of Fidim Municipality-3, was beaten and verbally abused by her 34-year-old father Samir Rai, and her 20-year-old step-mother Samikshya Rai.

The complaint was registered on behalf of the victim after she pleaded for help to Mangal Begha, INSEC's District Representative. 

The victim said that the accused had beaten her repeatedly and was brutally beaten with wire on 7th June.

The victim, who is studying in grade 4 of Nilakantha Boarding School, said she have been beaten even when asking for the school fees. Although black and blue marks are seen in the victim's body, the victim has not yet received medical treatment.

Anil Poudel, Inspector of the District Police Office, said that the complaint received on behalf of the victim has been registered and the accused are going to be called for the discussion.

Inspector Poudel informed that action will be taken according to the law if there is no commitment from the guardian regarding the victim's protection after the discussion.
