The teachers of Janata Secondary School in Bideha Municipality-2 of Dhanusha staged a demonstration saying they are not getting paid. More than a dozen students were injured in a clash between students and supporters of the Municipality Chief during the demonstration.
The clash took place when the protesting students were stopped by the supporters of Bechan Das, Municipality Chief, while trying to padlock the municipality. In the clash, 12 students, Radhekrishna Goit, Chairman of the School Management Committee, and Binod Gohitman, Ward chairman of Bideha Municipality-1 were also injured.
Earlier last Friday, the police had also charged baton after the students tried to padlock the municipality. The students padlocked the office again today after the police opened the lock using force. Students have warned that the movement will continue until the teacher's salary, scholarship amount and school budget are not announced.
