Police in Pokhara of Kaski district opened fire to nab a drug peddling suspect on Wednesday afternoon.
Police arrested Govinda Thapa after the incident.
Thapa has sustained injuries in his leg and he is undergoing treatment at West Regional Hospital in Pokhara, according to police. The law enforcers had received a tip off that he possessed different illegal pharmaceutical drugs and police were looking for him.
Police Inspector Ganesh Subedi says they were forced to open fire as Thapa tried to attack police first.
Meanwhile, police confiscated some illegal drugs from his possession.
