Nepali Congress Parsa protested against the raise in taxes. Congress, on Friday, protested saying metropolitan was trying to raise taxes in Birgunj municipality as it had in the past. Nepali congress demanded not to increase tax in a letter of the memorandum.
Congress cadres led by Parsa President Ajay Dwivedi staged a demonstration and submitted a letter of memorandum to Office Chief Bijay Kumar Sarawagi of Birgunj Metropolitan city.
Those who represented the board from the Nepali Congress were also involved in the anti-tax demonstrations. Board member and ward president Jagat Sah Kanu said that they have come to the street after repeated requests to the board were made but the hearing was ignored.
