Province 1, Panchthar, Kummayak, Ward 4
Bishnu Maya Sambahamphe of Kummayak rural municipality-4 in Panchthar has come to the district headquarter, Phidim, seeking justice after a team led by Rural Municipality Chairperson Jay Kumar Chemjong forced her out of the house she was staying at and padlocked it on Friday morning.
According to Sambahamphe, the chairperson accused her of fraudulently trying to capture other's property. The rural municipality claims to have sent a 35-day notice to vacate the house but Sambahamphe did not oblige to it and so they were compelled to padlock the house.
Bishnumaya says that she bought the property from her relative, Gita Maya Sambahamphe. However, the team from the rural municipality office forced Bishu Maya out of the house stating that she was trying to capture other's property. The economic dispute between Bishnu Maya and Gita Maya is currently in court.
