Police, on June 16, arrested 35-year-old Bhivulal Joshi, a resident of Hetauda Sub-metropolitan-7 and currently living at Mahalaxmi municipality-3, on the charge of raping a 13-year-old girl.
According to DSP Gautam Mishra, chief of Metropolitan Police Circle, Satodobota, the girl, who had been living in the Mahalaxmi Municipality-5 under the protection of the Community Child Rescue Center, Nepal, had gone out of the gate at 2 pm on June 8 and was missing since then.
Police found the girl in the closed room of Rajendra Maharjan's house in which Joshi was a tenant at around 8 pm on June 15.
The accused was arrested after the victim filed a complaint at the Metropolitan Police Circle Satdobato on June 15.
The victim underwent a medical examination at Patan hospital on June 16. Police say they are further investigating the incident.
