A man has been held on the charge of raping his 15-year-old daughter in Bhamaratole of Nijgadh Municipality-9 in Bara district, the police said on Wednesday.
The news came to fore after the victim shared the incident with her sister in Simara. And filed a first information report (FIR) against her father Tirtha Bahadur Sunar at the District Police Office, Bara.
Subsequently, police arrested Sunar from his house in Nijgadh and brought him to DPO, Bara, on Monday for further investigation, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and DPO Spokesperson Ranjit Singh Rathore said.
Earlier, Sunar took advantage of the situation and committed a heinous crime, a week ago, DSP Rathore added.
Meanwhile, the suspect was presented before the court today and remanded in custody for seven days for investigation, police said.
