43-year-old Raju Shrestha, ward secretary of ward 3 of Naukunda Rural Municipality accused 26-year-old Ganeshman Ghale and 29-year-old Surya Rana Tamang of the same place of assaulting him on July 8. Raju accused the duo of assaulting him when they were drunk. The staffs of the rural municipality resorted to strike halting all official work at the word office from July 9 in protest against the attack. 

The rural municipality would be closed until the perpetrators, who physically and verbally attacked the staffs, were punished through legal action, said Lok Hari Thapa, the Chief Administrative Officer.  The disturbances in the office at the end of the fiscal year have affected a lot of working in the office, he further added. Injured Shrestha underwent a  medical examination on June 8 at Parchyang Health Institute.
