A 31-year-old Kuldeep Yadav, of Inaruwa Municipality-9, has filed an application at Informal Sector Service Center (INSEC) seeking help for justice on being tortured by the police in custody.

58-year-old Father Bindeshwar Yadav appealed to the INSEC Sunsari representative on July 18 and urged him to take initiative for justice.

The victim's family accused police of beating him with a baton and forcing him to accept that he had stolen a motorcycle. According to them, police tortured him on the night of July 5 and 6 at the upper floor of District Police Office in order to force him to falsely confess to having stolen a motorcycle.

After the application from the victim's side, the INSEC representative has requested information about the incident in coordination with Assistant Chief District Officer Chiranjivi Giri of Sunsari.

DSP Gyanendra Phuyal of Sunsari District Police said that culprits would be punished if they are found to have tortured an innocent civilian.
