A dispute between the Mayor Ramgyan Mandal of Hansapur Municipality and Deputy Mayor Renu Jha on the issue of shifting the municipality office took a violent turn injuring half dozen locals on Tuesday. Mayor Mandal deployed police after locals led by deputy-mayor Jha obstructed the mayor's team from shifting items of the municipality to new Municipality. Half dozen locals were injured in the baton charge by police during the clash including deputy mayor Jha, Uday Sah, Chairperson of Ward No 2, Tapeshwar Mandal, Phekan Kappar, Punya Khatri.
Tapeshwar Mandal was seriously injured and was sent to Janakpur Zonal Hospital for further treatment. According to locals, Mayor Mandal along with the police came with groups of 50-60 and 2 tractors carrying domestic weapons to shift office. Clashes between the two sides are still continuing.

67-year-old Tapeshwor Mandal of Bambhaura, who was injured in the clash over shifting the Municipality office of Hansapur Municipality, died on Friday night at Janakpur Zonal Hospital while undergoing treatment.
After his death, supporters of Deputy-Mayor Jha of Hanspur Municipality came to the hospital on September 5 demanding action against the culprits and demanding proper compensation to the victim's family.
