A container-truck driver in Rasuwa was beaten mercilessly by policemen on 3rd September. Shreeman Tamang, the driver of Ba.6.Kha 4925 numbered truck which transports goods across Nepal-China border, is seen to have been beaten by an ASI and a constable in a video. The video shows the policemen cursing while assaulting the driver by punches and kicks. The duo also ignores the request of the spectators to not assault the driver.
Tamang had assaulted the policemen when they had requested Tamang to move the vehicle on the narrow road, said Bhogendra Purush Dhakal, the chief of Rasuwa Police Office. The video shows the latter part of the incident which does not give the full story, he added. He further added that the policemen would be punished if found guilty from the investigation. The driver and the policemen are held for investigation.
