21-year-old Santoshi Mahato of Barju Rural Municipality-5 filed a complaint against her husband and mother-in-law on September 19 stating that they physically abused her. 

Santoshi Mahato married 24-year-old Pawan Mahato two years ago. The husband and the mother-in-law allegedly threw Santoshi and her infant daughter out of the house one week after getting married. Santoshi had given birth to her daughter Laxmi Mehta on July 31. After giving birth to a girl child, the victim's husband and mother-in-law physically assaulted her more than they used to. 

Mahato also added that she was assaulted even when she was pregnant.
